AmeriCorps Member of the Month – Aileen Tadd

July, 2021

Each month we recognize an AmeriCorps member serving in Utah for going above and beyond the pledge they took to “Get Things Done.” This month we are proud to recognize Aileen Tadd for her service with the Utah Healthcare Corps in Washington County. The Utah Healthcare Corps, an AmeriCorps program of the Association for Utah Community Health (AUCH), currently supports more than 20 members serving as Community Health Workers (CHWs) in over six sites throughout the state of Utah. UHC CHWs make a difference in the community by providing vital health education and connections to health and social resources to improve patient lives.

We thank Heather Holladay, Community Health Services Program Coordinator with AUCH, for providing the following nomination in recognition of Aileen’s service:

Through out her two terms of AmeriCorps service, Aileen Tadd has exemplified the AmeriCorps values though her resourcefulness, determination, and her empathy.

Aileen possesses the ability to quickly build open, trusting relationships with her clients – she has often received praise from both clients and referring partners. In addition to connecting her clients to local resources to address their needs, Aileen also leaves her clients with the skills and knowledge they will need should they need resource connection in the future.

As her second term comes to a close, I am incredibly thankful to have been able to work with her. She will not only be leaving her community better than she found it, but her entire team and myself included.

Aileen’s previous supervisor, Sarai Dickerson-Hernandez, shared the following about her hard work:

Her tips and best practices have even been incorporated into our new member orientation so that we can share her knowledge with future members. Transitioning to telehealth services during the pandemic had many of us concerned that it would hamper our abilities to build trusting relationships with our clients. If Aileen shared these concerns, it never showed or slowed her down. Her ability to quickly build open, trusting relationships with her clients did not suffer. In fact, it excelled. This made her an invaluable asset to our team and often resulted in praise from both clients and referring partners. In addition to connecting her clients to local resources to address their needs, Aileen also leaves her clients with the skills and knowledge they will need should they require resource connection in the future. She not only leaves her community better than she found it, but her entire team as well.

Now more than ever we are grateful for individuals such as Aileen who are addressing critical health needs in communities in our state.

We extend our congratulations to Aileen for being recognized as the UServeUtah AmeriCorps Member of the Month and thank her for her dedicated service to communities in Utah.
