Every child deserves a champion; an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connections and insists that they become the best they can possibly be.

Keli Linke is currently in her fourth and final year serving as an AmeriCorps member in the Mentoring for Success program. She has served all four terms at Roy Elementary in Roy, Utah. Her program focuses on supporting at-risk students through tutoring, mentoring, and positive behavioral intervention support.

“Keli is an extraordinary mentor in our Mentoring for Success [program],” said Linda Brown, Program Director for Mentoring for Success. “Her program is one of the most effective ones we have.” Keli is always willing to spend her work time letting new mentors shadow her, and is able to answer all their questions and share her tips for success. Keli’s study group along with one centered in Ogden City organized two of the most effective clothing drives that Mentoring for Success have been a part of. It was done with complete dignity and respect, which is how Keli runs her entire program daily.

Keli is well loved by both staff and students at Roy Elementary. She has helped tremendously in creating the positive learning environment present at the school. She supports the staff and motivates the students to succeed. It is safe to say that at least 90% of the kids at Roy Elementary know who she is.Her program is now truly a part of the school culture at Roy.

Thank you for your service, Keli, and good luck with your future endeavors!
