Jan Phillips’ boundless compassion and spirited personality left an indelible mark on everyone she met. As an AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent at South Valley School, Jan dedicated her time and heart to supporting students with special needs, creating a legacy of care and kindness that will never be forgotten. Her ability to connect with students, offering encouragement and unconditional support, transformed countless lives and inspired a deep sense of community. Jan’s service was a testament to the profound difference one person can make.

Grandma Jan was a part of our South Valley family for 12 years. She was more than a mentor; she was a beacon of love and compassion. Her ability to see the strengths in all of our students with disabilities was truly remarkable. Her tender heart, infectious humor, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of countless students and staff members. Grandma Jan’s legacy of warmth and care will continue to inspire us all. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the halls of South Valley.
