Join us in celebrating the power of youth service in our state.
From April 11 to May 11, young people all across Utah are stepping up and showing the power of service. Utah Youth Service Month is your chance to join a statewide movement of youth leaders and changemakers who are committed to building stronger communities, one act of service at a time.
Whether you team up with friends, serve with your family, or take the lead on your own project, this is your moment to shine. Big or small, every action makes a difference. Service gives young people a chance to grow, lead, and connect with the community. When youth serve, they build confidence, develop leadership skills, and make their neighborhoods better places to live.
Not sure where to start? Here are a few ways you can make a real impact during Youth Service Month:
- Organize a park or neighborhood clean-up.
- Tutor younger students or help with homework.
- Volunteer at a food bank or soup kitchen.
- Collect donations for a local shelter or nonprofit.
- Write uplifting notes or cards to brighten someone’s day.
- Host a drive for hygiene items, school supplies, or clothes.
- Help a neighbor with yard work or chores.
- Use your talents for good: Create art, music, videos, or tech tools that raise awareness for a cause you care about.
Utah Youth Service Month includes Global Youth Service Day—the largest youth service and civic action event in the world, celebrated in over 100 countries. It’s a time for youth to lead projects that improve their communities and address real-world challenges. Whether you’re volunteering locally or joining a global movement, you’re part of something big. Learn more at ysa.org, and find a way to serve April 25-27.
Still not sure how you want to get involved? Take the Community Engagement Pathways survey to discover how you’re uniquely suited to make a difference.
