Honor your champions: Utah Philanthropy Day seeks nominations for annual awards

SALT LAKE CITY — Super volunteers and supporters will be recognized by Utah Philanthropy Day’s nine major awards. Nominations are open now for Utah’s flagship celebration of volunteerism and philanthropy, which recognizes individuals, foundations, corporations, public servants, and organizations for their outstanding dedication to communities in Utah. –

Organizations are invited to honor champions: Such as Day 1 supporters. Funders whodrive your mission and believe in your vision. Volunteers who show up and share their passion for your cause. Board members who lead fearlessly and give generously.

The awards — with nominations open through Aug. 15 at utahphilanthropyday.org/awards — honor the advocates, the activists, and the philanthropists driving change.

Award categories include: the Philanthropic Leadership Award, the Labor & Honor Award; the Corporate Spirit of Giving Award; the Foundation Spirit of Giving Award; the Outstanding Volunteer Award; the Outstanding Young Volunteer Award; the Governor’s Career Humanitarian Leadership Award; the Lt. Governor’s Public Service Award; and the Heart & Hands Award.

The Heart & Hands Award is a special opportunity to honor remarkable volunteers. All nominees  are honored with this award (following a committee review). Honorees will be highlighted during the awards ceremony and receive a certificate and pin.

Support of Utah Philanthropy Day celebrates the many ways local Utahns are stepping up to make a difference, but also anchors the three pillars of the state’s nonprofit community: the Association of Fundraising Professionals Utah Chapter, Utah Nonprofits Association, and UServeUtah. Each host organization plays a vital role in supporting organizations doing critical work across our state.

This year’s Utah Philanthropy Day celebration and awards ceremony will be Nov. 15 at the Hale Centre Theatre, 9900 Monroe St., Sandy.
