Honored Volunteers – July 2022

Congratulations to recipients of the Lt. Governor’s Volunteer Recognition Certificate in July of 2022. The contributions made by these volunteers make lasting impacts on communities across our state.

Susana Alba, Nominated by the Association for Utah Community Health

Susana has been a dedicated member of the Utah Healthcare Corps for four years. Throughout her terms of service, she has shown a strong commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication to her community. As an AmeriCorps member placed at Family Healthcare in St. George, Susana has provided access to healthcare and social resources for countless individuals and families, often going above and beyond to meet their needs and provide support as they’ve navigated challenging personal circumstances. The Association for Utah Community Health (AUCH) and the Utah Healthcare Corps program (UHC), thanks Susana for her hard work. She radiates kindness and compassion, and UHC is lucky to have had her as a member, and is even luckier to have her as an alum and part of the larger program family.

Sabrina Buckley, Nominated by The INN Between

Sabrina shows individualized compassionate care for our residents and always comes in when we are in a bind with staffing.

Bettina Gebhard, Nominated by Intermountain Healthcare St. George Hospice

Bettina has volunteered for over 4 years for Intermountain Healthcare St. George Hospice. In 2021 she volunteered over 120 hours of compassionate service to Intermountain Healthcare hospice patients.

Jennifer Lickhart, Nominated by Ruff Haven Crisis Sheltering

Jennifer was initially a client in our pet sheltering program after experiencing some medical issues. We cared for her adorable Jack Russell Terrier, Gus, on a few occasions. She became one of our most active volunteers during this time. She continues to be one of our most reliable and dependable volunteers, working in our cat room 4-5 days a week. She also fostered a cat for someone else who was going through a similar hardship. Sadly, Gus passed away from cancer earlier this year. He is very missed. Jenn still comes in almost daily to volunteer with us. We are happy to share she is looking to adopt her next pet. She is such a valuable part of our organization and team, and we are lucky to have her!
