Community Engagement: Strategic collaboration with identified groups based on shared interests or geographic location to identify and address issues impacting community wellbeing.
Partnership: A close mutual cooperation between parties having shared interests, responsibilities, privileges, and power.
Reflection: An essential component of service that serves to connect the community engagement and service experience. This process allows students to have better insight about their experience and connections to course materials while developing critical and creative learning skills, communication skills, and a sense of both civic responsibility and multicultural understanding.
Recognition: Acknowledging the achievement of each student in a personally meaningful way that highlights the impact of their service in the community.
Service: Work done by an individual to benefit an individual, community, or cause.
Student Voice: The active involvement of students expressing their thoughts and participating in decision-making processes related to planning, execution, and assessment. Their input and feedback is integrated into program development to tailor their learning journey.
