Norma Paramore has been honored with the Power of Service Award, presented by Commission Chair Debbie Hardy on July 20, 2017. With over 25 years of dedicated service at the Center for Women and Children in Crisis (CWCIC), Norma has been an invaluable asset to our community since the center opened its doors in February 1984.
Throughout her time at CWCIC, Norma has made a profound impact by serving on the Rape Crisis Team, providing compassionate support to victims of sexual assault during their most vulnerable moments. Whether comforting individuals over the phone or supporting them in hospitals, Norma has been a beacon of hope in desperate times.
After her work with the Rape Crisis Team, Norma transitioned to helping residents fleeing domestic abuse. Her dedication knows no bounds as she assists clients with appointments, answers hotline calls, and runs essential errands, all while maintaining a positive and uplifting spirit. Over the years, she has contributed more than 6,000 hours of service, embodying kindness and thoughtfulness in every interaction.
Norma’s love for her community shines through in everything she does, and we are honored to have her as part of the CWCIC team. Her selfless dedication serves as an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the incredible power of volunteer service. Congratulations, Norma, on this well-deserved recognition!
