Community Rebuilds

Image
AmeriCorps members serving with Community Rebuilds combat poverty through a specialized rural corps dedicated to the needs of Utah’s smaller communities. Operating at sites in Moab, and Green River, AmeriCorps members address affordable housing and literacy. In this program, AmeriCorps members are building additional housing for area residents using natural building materials resulting in energy-efficient homes for low income residents of Moab. Members work with prospective tenants and homeowners to contribute to a healthier, more resilient community. Additionally, members are also providing direct assistance to elementary-age youth in Green River through PACT’s Pyramid youth Programs. Members assist staff in implementing programs previously created by AmeriCorps VISTA members. Literacy support is provided on-site and off-site at the elementary school and local library.
