D Anne Robinson Honored with Utah AmeriCorps Seniors Service Award

D Anne Robinson may be retired, but she never tires of offering a helping hand to those in need! D Anne was honored with the Utah AmeriCorps Seniors Service Award in June of 2022 for her service with the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program.

The AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program pairs senior volunteers with organizations making change in communities across our state and nationwide. Volunteers in this program tutor and mentor youth, respond to natural disasters, support veterans and their families, and meet critical community needs. As an AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer, D Anne found ways to use her unique talents and caring personality to make a difference.

Maria Bailey, the RSVP Director with the Five County Area Agency on Aging, had this to say about D Anne’s outstanding service:

“D Anne joined our telephone reassurance program with RSVP during the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020. She realized that there were people in the community that were isolated and along that needed a friendly voice to talk to and someone to check on them. She provided a caring companionship to her contacts. She also saw the need for face masks throughout the community. She sewed and donated over 200 masks at her own expense and on her own time. D Anne has a heart of gold and shows a genuine care and concern for those that she comes in contact with, whether this is one of her telephone contacts or just those around her. What has always been amazing about D Anne is her belief in our Telephone Reassurance program and its benefits to those that are receiving services. When her contacts have an issue she makes sure that she passes this information along to try to get them resolution. We are so grateful to have D Anne as part of our team and to have her as an example of what a true volunteer is.”

We congratulate D Anne for being recognized for her many contributions to her community, and thank her for continuing to make a difference as an AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer!
