MIKE ALLRED HONORED WITH UTAH AMERICORPS SENIORS SERVICE AWARD

October, 2022

Mike is awesome! He volunteers with Davis County Senior Services, Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP). He has been a volunteer in this program for 3 years. We struggle to get volunteers for this program because Medicare can be intimidating and maybe not the most fun volunteer opportunity. Mike jumped right in. He was eager to learn the material and still is. He is always willing to attend webinars and trainings to learn more. He teaches monthly Medicare 101 classes that we always hear raving reviews about. People come back to tell us how helpful Mike was in helping them better understand their Medicare benefits. He also helps us by doing monthly Medicare Minute presentations at our senior centers and by helping us with one on one appointments with individuals wanting to go over their Medicare benefits. During Medicare Open Enrollment, Mike gives up several afternoons to sit down with individuals to go over their benefits. Mike has helped so many individuals in the community with Medicare, and he has helped the program immensely!
